My name is Matt. I'm a graphic designer based in Cebu, Philippines.

Before I became a graphic designer, I was a software developer and was making good money from it. However, I never really enjoyed what I did. It was not something I saw myself doing for a very long time.

When I was young, I remember opening up Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and trying to replace my head with a basketball. It was satisfying working on the image and then seeing the result.

I was always drawn to the arts and design since I was young. So I thought why not give design a go and leave behind software development? So I did!

The journey has not been easy but it has certainly been fun. Along the way, I gained experience from the various projects I have handled. It's great too that my technical skills improved. I always lean on my experience and skill every time I work on projects allowing me to create designs that are useful to my clients.

When I'm not working, I do a bit of hand-lettering. With hand-lettering, there are so many ways you can style a letter. I guess that's what makes it fun and interesting. Today, I try to incorporate some hand-lettering in my designs. It makes the work look organic and unique. I wouldn't mind having to work on hand-lettering projects more in the future.
